Vice president and co-owner of Emmitsburg Veterinary Hospital, Nell has lived in towns and cities all over the United States as well as The Netherlands, Mexico, and Dominica. She attended Texas A & M University, where she met her husband Dr. Hugh Matthews, and graduated with her BS in Biomedical Science in 1980.
Highly involved in the Gettysburg local community, Nell has organized a group of citizens to work toward building a community pool. She runs a tennis program for children under the USTA and has also served on the Adams County Career Aid Project for the past six years.
Nell enjoys playing tennis, sailing, traveling, and being with friends and family.
Nell and Hugh have three wonderful children: Kate, Will, and Ann.
A native of Washington D.C., Office Manager Michelle spent most of her childhood in Waynesboro, PA. A graduate of the American Animal Hospital Association Veterinary Management School, she has worked in the animal field since 1998.
Michelle enjoys spending time with her family: husband Mel, son David, and daughters Samantha and Paige. Complimenting this crew are four cats; Sammy, Tequila, Speedbump and Mercedes, as well as two very spoiled dogs, Iris and Allie.
Michelle’s hobbies are walking, reading, and working with her German Shepherd Dog Iris at the Blue Ridge K-9 Training Center.
