With professional interests in feline medicine, Dr. Jan Wimer brought her veterinary talents to Emmitsburg Veterinary Hospital in 1998. Having grown up in McLean VA, she attended Virginia Tech and received her B.S. Degree in Animal Science. She graduated in 1992 having achieved deans list and membership in the Alpha Zeta Agriculture Honor Society. Following her undergraduate studies, she attended Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1998 with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Wimer is married to Mark, a cable technician, and they have a 7 month old daughter named Kate. Their pets include two horses, Bacardi and Sundance, an Australian Shepard named Auggie, and four cats; Tab, Buff, Marcus and Bill.
A volunteer at the SPCA, Dr. Wimer donates her medical and surgical talents caring for the homeless dogs and cats.
